How to prevent Backup Exec from failing a backup operation when encountering corrupt files (excluding Microsoft Exchange files)

One day one of my colleague from International region called me for Back Exec problem. He was not able to complete backup operation for his FNP server due to error. WARNING: "" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify. When Backup Exec (tm) encounters a corrupt file, the job will fail. Following is observed in the failed backup job log:  While investigation came to know that backup is failing because of one of the .Pst file which is online. I mean in use & someone kept that file on FNP for being backup & can be accessible from any location. We can’t remove the file because that is what our business requirement was but at the same time  we want to complete the backup jobs.  To Avoid such cases & to run backup jobs successfully in the Backup Exec follow some tips which are mentioned below.  Create a Reg_Dword key called Fail Jobs on Corrupt Files in following location as per you backup exec version. Can’t see cross domain universal group membership across domain using ADUC.

Can’t see cross domain universal group membership across domain.   Today one tech lead has approached me saying that yesterday he was able to see few groups under particular id which was on parent domain. He demonstrates the problem. Open ADUC- then he searched for the particular ID & he was able to see only domain users group & nothing else. Then I check same id from my computer I was able to see all group membership. Only difference between Tech lead & me is I am on parent domain & he was on child domain & was using Windows XP.   Then I came across following article which describes the same problem. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=833883  When I made registry changes & it’s surprisingly start working exactly the way I expected.     Happy Blogging, Avi

Juniper VPN says no page to display after authentication in to the SSL Page.

Juniper VPN says no page to display after authentication in to the SSL Page. Earlier I thought some Windows patches were missing or the Antivirus updates were not up to the mark that’s why it was not allow me to connect Vpn. I tired uninstalling Host Checker still there is no go. Weird side of the problem was after authentication it was showing Java error in the left lower corner of IE page. Solution: Open control Panel – Java- In the General-Temporary Internet files-Click Setting-Click Delete files.   Happy Blogging,

No Remote Desktop client access licenses available for this computer.

No Remote Desktop client access licenses available for this computer. I got critical ticket from international region saying they are not able access Terminal Servers & suddenly they won’t be able to connect these terminal servers only other servers like F & P were working fine. I thought it might be some RDP client problem that’s why I upgrade the RDP Client on affected computer but that won’t fix the problem. While surfing on Internet I got following solution which is basically a registry heck but it was not an full proof solution for my scenario. It may solve your problem. Solution 1: (This will fix client computer only) On the client, navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing. Click MSLicensing. On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File. In the File name box, type mslicensingbackup, and then click Save. If you need to restore this registry key in the future, double-click mslicensingbackup.reg. On the Edit

Microsoft has stopped the MODI (Microsoft Office Document Imaging) post office 2007 release. There are still many users who need that functionality just to extract OCR (Optical Character Recognition) from Image files such as Jpeg, Tif. Now who are all dependent on MODI had to search other alternative for the same. Still there are multiple options open & it depends how you accept those.
