RPO:
Recovery Point Objective
How
much data you can afford to lose (Or how long it has been since you saved your
data, the recovery point)
RTO:
Recovery Time Objective
It is the
length of time you can afford to take to return to normal service.

Role difference
between Master Media and EMM?
Media Server: These servers had some form of storage
attached either network storage, Physical storage or tape library. Media
servers performs following tasks.
1)
Reading & writing of data to and from Disk or Tape
2)
They combines clients data into GNU
tar archive files called backup images.
Multiple Media Servers can be managed by one master
server
Master Server:
Master server controls the backup and recovery
activities for the client assigned to it.
Master server tracks which files is backup-ed using which
media and media server by which backup policy.
Enterprise Media Manager:
Enterprise Master server is central data storage and
number of services which manages and allocate resources for backup function
its operation.
This is usually on the host as master server.
